Light sticks have a shelf life (3-4 years)
Keep foil wrapper intact. The plastic will "breath"
Lasts longer in cold - Burns brighter when warm.

It's been a few years now, but at one time I had researched light sticks,
light emitting diodes and photo luminescence to more depth than I cared to.
One interesting point was the light (color) wave lengths most readily
perceived by the eye. After reading several detailed test results and reports
I found that a blue green color was most likely to be the brightest and most
visible and outstanding color source. I then asked around and found that this
was in fact the color of light sticks used by the military for night drops. You
may have noticed a change on emergency vehicles to blue lighting. Our position of
being a supplier and workshop instructors for the county and state requires that
we research and keep up to speed on what we offer and recommend.
Light sticks of other colors may fit a particular need however, we
consider these to be more of a novelty item.
