What is a MRE ?
MRE, from the military description, Meal Ready to Eat = MRE
( The same components as meals prepared for the fighting forces)
MRE, Dehydrated or Freeze Dried?
Entrees & side dishes are "wet packed" fully cooked, packed
in multiple laminated flexible "retort" packaged & processed.
Can product be served cold?
Yes, can be eaten directly from pouch with supplied utensil
however warmed foods are normally preferred. Warming can be
accomplished by resting pouch in warm water or close to warm
object, even warmed by sunlight or body heat. Be careful not to apply
damaging heat source directly to pouch.
What is the shelf life?
Shelf life estimates are based on U.S. Army NATIC Research Labs.
The manufacture cannot guarantee the accuracy of these independent tests.
Keeping MRE's cool enhances shelf life. We do not recommend
storing MRE's in auto during summer or in direct sunlight.
Freezing tends to flatten taste as meals are wet packed.
